Studies in Philippians “Working Out Our Salvation”
Bible Text: Philippians 2:12-18 | Speaker: Pastor Peter Kenniphaas | Series: Studies in Philippians | In response to one of the clearest and comprehensive descriptions of the incarnation of Jesus, we are asked to work out our salvation. Working out our salvation is very different from working for our salvation. Working for salvation means doing something in order to get something. Working out salvation means doing something because we have received something. Every true Christian has the life of Jesus deposited in them (Colossians 1:27). The Christian call is to bring to the outside the life of Jesus that resides on the inside. We do this by bringing every area of our life under the Lordship of Jesus. The greater our understanding of how Jesus surrendered everything for our behalf, the greater our ability to surrender everything to Jesus for His sake and glory.
