Studies in Philippians “A Vision of Unity That Inspires Hope”
Bible Text: Philippians 2:19-30 | Speaker: Pastor Peter Kenniphaas | Series: Studies in Philippians | Beautiful examples are given to illustrate what it means to be like-minded having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose (Philippians 2:2). The most powerful example is the life of Jesus who emptied Himself of glory, humbling Himself becoming obedient to death on a cross. The Apostle Paul is an example of oneness of mind with the Philippians in responding to Jesus’ life and death with thanksgiving serving and sacrificing for Him. Timothy is another example of oneness of soul with the Apostle Paul where together they embraced a selfless spirit putting the needs and interest of others ahead of their own. Epaphroditus is another example of oneness of heart with the Apostle Paul and the Philippians who felt deeply for one another in such a way that when one rejoiced they all rejoiced, and when one grieved they all grieved.
