Studies in Philippians “The Joy of Confidence in Christ Alone”

Passage: Philippians 3:1-11

Bible Text: Philippians 3:1-11 | Speaker: Pastor Peter Kenniphaas | Series: Studies in Philippians | As Christians, we have an incredible capacity to experience joy through our faith in Jesus, a joy that is not dependent on our external circumstances. But we need to watch out since our joy and faith can become undermined by once again placing our confidence in the flesh. Confidence in the flesh is confidence in our moral record and achievements which can compete with our confidence in Christ alone for salvation. Being a Christian not only involves repenting from our sin, but it also involves repenting of our self-righteousness. Only when we know the greatness of the righteousness we have received through faith in Jesus, will we like the Apostle Paul consider all things lost for His sake.
