Peter Kenniphaas- Lead Pastor
Peter recently joined the Ferndale family accepting the congregation's call to be the new Lead Pastor in May 2008. Peter is married to Barbara and they have four children (Jonathan, Jordan, Josiah, and Annie). Peter has been a pastor for 17 years, 11 years in British Columbia on Vancouver Island, and 6 years in Belleville, Ontario. Peter's passion is to see people come to know and love Jesus Christ and to see lives transformed by the power of God. Peter is a "people person" enjoying a wide range of recreational activities, sports and music. His responsibilities at Ferndale are teaching, leadership and pastoral care.
Jim Welch - Associate Pastor
Jim was hired on as the Associate Pastor in October 2006. His responsibilities are heavily focussed in the area of Student Ministry. Jim counts it a privilege to have been active in the lives of High School and Jr. High School students for the past 15 years. As a long time member of Ferndale he has ministered in other areas of leadership which help round out his position as Associate Pastor. As a licensed Real Estate Sales Representative since 2005, Jim desires to help people through an important transition time of life. Penny is Jim's wife and they have been married 18 years. Penny has been involved in student ministry over the same period of time and also has an active hand in the Worship and Children's ministries. Alexx, 8 and Luke, 5 are their children and they attend Rhema Christian School. On his personal time you will find Jim either with his family, running, playing hockey, or on the golf course. Debra Wease - Administrative Assistant
Debra Wease is new to Ferndale Church as she has only lived in Peterborough for just over a year. A mother of three daughters and one son-in-law, Sara, Kate, Simon, Laura and step-mother to Hannah and Alissa, she is busy with family. Her husband, Mark, is one of many blessings that the Lord has given her. Delighted to be working for Ferndale Bible Church, she looks forward to serving the needs of staff and congregation...another awesome blessing straight from the Lord!!
Cheryl Riley - Children's Ministry Director
Cheryl and her husband Peter have three children. They have been attending Ferndale since 1996. Cheryl has an Early Childhood Education diploma and a background in working with children. She has been involved with Children's Ministry for many years. It has been her privilege to be hired on as Director of Children's Ministry which has allowed her more time to work on improving programs and meeting children's needs. She looks forward to what God will do in Children's Ministry here in the coming years.
